Washington, D.C. – “The federal government is responding to our calls for action. This week, a delegation of senior officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Justice, led by U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, will arrive in Puerto Rico to roll up their sleeves and develop a strategy to to combat drug trafficking and related violence on the Island. The agenda will be full of working meetings with federal and local stakeholders, beginning with Governor Fortuño, U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodríguez, Police Superintendent Hector Pesquera, and myself.
